Dear Laila:
in addition to what I already informed you about this morning:
Information on the Weight variables in the original data and
documentation is available at:
http://www.gesis.org/en/data_service/eurobarometer/standard_eb/
ebweight.htm
Please note the VARIABLE LABELS for the WEIGHT variables (W1
etc.) in the original SPSS data set for identification.
COUNTRY SPECIFIC coding is usually not needed because in
these cases each country is coded in separately (e.g. income for
Denmark is variable 'D29DEN', this is also documented accordingly
in the original codebook, not in the basic questionnaire).
Sorry for the inconveniencies. The archives a working to come up
with processing and standard documentation of Eurobarometer, but
also considered important to release the data as soon as possible,
even if still not that well prepared...
In case of any doubt or problem, please don't hesitate to contact me
again.
Meinhard
