Dear DDI users,

The DDI Technical Committee plans to start work this summer on a web-based
agency id resolution and service discovery system. The DDI Alliance
currently runs a DNS service record-based resolution system. This new
web-based effort will complement the existing system and give DDI users a
new http-based resolution option which may be more familiar to work with
and will be usable from environments where DNS SRV record resolving is
unavailable, such as JavaScript running within a browser.

The TC envisions creating one or two new methods for agency id and service
resolution.

1. A ReST based API or json document which would be added to the existing
DDI registry.

2. An RFC 3986 based well-known URI which would describe agency and
service information on each organizations own website using the
/.well-known/ namespace.

Please let us know if you are interested in contributing to this new effort.
Respond to the list or to any member of the Technical Committee.

Thanks,
DDI Technical Committee
