The 2020 Summer Program is Heating Up

Registration for the 2020 Summer Program

open. The four-week courses run June 22-July 17 and July 20-August 14. And,
numerous three- to five-day workshops beginning in May are also in the
mix! Scholarship

Why Not Teach this Summer?

Teaching assistants are an essential part of the Summer Program’s four-week
session instructional staff. These individuals serve a vital role by
assisting workshop instructors, grading assignments, and providing guidance

Data Services–Learn to Deliver this Summer!

This five-day workshop starting August 10 and delivered by ICPSR Official
Representatives (ORs), is being offered to individuals who manage or
support local services for ICPSR and other research data for quantitative
analysis. This workshop, titled, “Providing Social Science Data Services:
Strategies for Design and Operation,” is organized around four data service
<https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/sumprog/courses/0041> areas:
collections; users; access; and preservation.

Love Data Week

Joining the Data Revolution: Big Data in Education and Social Science

workshop on how to leverage big data resources and tools to advance your
education and social science (ESS) research.
Wintertime Project News: NSF selects AERA and ICPSR to create new STEM
Research Data Hub

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) and ICPSR have joined
forces to create a research data hub to connect, educate, and build a
community around STEM education data resources. The new Data Resource Hub –
PEERS <https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/about/cms/2237> - is a
web-based platform that will include wide-ranging forms of data and data
resources and foster new networks of research collaboration and
communication in STEM education.
Warm up with a Great Webinar - The Midlife in the United States (MIDUS)
Study

MIDUS is a U.S. national, longitudinal study which focuses on the role of
psychological, social, and biological factors in accounting for age-related
variations in health and well-being among two national samples of

New Council Members join ICPSR in March

ICPSR’s Official Representatives (ORs) approved the Council

slate presented to them during the 2019 ICPSR Biennial Meeting. New members
include: Dave Armstrong, Western University; James Doiron, University of
Alberta; Kristin Eschenfelder, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Mark
Hansen, Columbia University; Trevon Logan, Ohio State University; and Ken
Smith, University of Utah. In addition, Lisa Cook, Michigan State
University, will take the gavel as Council Chair.

This virtual biennial conference will take place September 21-25, 2020. The
ICPSR Data Fair is for anyone interested in data. The Data Fair is
completely online, open to the public, and all workshops are free. Learn
