Free Workshop: "Secondary Analysis in Disability and Rehabilitation
Research"


*Dates and Location:* June 24 – 25, 2019 in Ann Arbor, Michigan
*Instructors:* James Graham (Colorado State University) and Shane Redman
(ICPSR)

This free workshop will introduce participants to secondary data analysis
opportunities in disability and rehabilitation research. We will provide
information on the value of secondary data analysis in advancing
scholarship and practice; how to find and select secondary data related to
a topic of interest; and the fundamentals of accessing, managing, and
analyzing archived data.

The workshop will be led by data archivists and researchers from the
Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at
the University of Michigan and the Center for Large Data Research and Data
Sharing in Rehabilitation (CLDR) at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
We will use both didactic learning methods and hands-on activities. The
information and skills will be particularly beneficial for students,
post-docs, and junior investigators looking for ways to establish and/or
enhance their research programs.

Please note that participants are strongly encouraged to provide their own
personal laptop computer. Tablets are not suitable.

*Application:* Admission to this workshop is competitive, and enrollment is
limited to 15 participants. Go to the Summer Program registration portal at

   - Current curriculum vita
   - Cover letter discussing your motivations for attending the workshop,
   career background or work experience, and the statistical package(s) that
   you are familiar with (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R, etc.).
