winter of 2019 in Ann Arbor, but inside at ICPSR, the hallways are warm and
bright with many bits to share in this winter edition of ICPSR DataBytes!

Even in Winter, the 2019 Summer Program is Heating Up!

Registration for the 2019 Summer Program

courses run June 24-July 19 and July 22-August 16. And, numerous three- to
five-day workshops beginning in May are also in the mix; scholarship
applications

Curl Up with a Data Story at the 2019 ICPSR Meeting,
October 16-18

Save the Date for ICPSR's Biennial Meeting

Affectionately referred to as the "OR Meeting," the Biennial Meeting brings
all Official and Designated Representatives together for a conference in
Ann Arbor. There is no registration fee. Attendees will receive training on
resources available through ICPSR as well as updates on ICPSR's plans for
the future. Topics include Data 101, Data Visualization, Boot Camp for New
Official and Designated Representatives, and much more. Watch your emails
for program information and the registration site available in late
spring! *The
meeting is open to individuals from member institutions*.
Council News: Calling all Nominations

The ICPSR Council

is preparing to bid farewell to six current members and welcome six new
colleagues to the mix.  To accomplish this task, ICPSR needs your
suggestions. Please note that Council members must be from member
institutions

Extending ICPSR's Hall of Fame

As part of its mission to support the social and behavioral sciences, ICPSR
presents biennial awards

individuals who have distinguished themselves in their service to the
social science and data communities.  We invite you to help us identify the
2019 winners of the Warren E. Miller Award for Meritorious Service to the
Social Sciences and the William H. Flanigan Award for Distinguished Service
as an ICPSR Official Representative.  Please submit your nominations via
this awards nominations form <https://goo.gl/forms/hXcSS1F2wC3kc9kk2> by
April 30, 2019.
The ICPSR Bulletin – A Blizzard of Information

The most recent ICPSR Bulletin

news on the launch of a new data archive to assist research in the area of
youth firearm injury prevention, use of badges to increase secure access to
sensitive data, tales from the ICPSR physical data enclave, and much more.
Membership News – FY2020 Invoices on the Horizon

Invoices for the Membership period beginning July 1, 2019, affectionately
known as FY2020, will be released in early April. ICPSR dues

same as this past year.
A New Type of Data for ICPSR

ICPSR continues to expand the types of data it shares, now including brain
images! The Anatomical Tracings of Lesions After Stroke (ATLAS) Dataset
<https://bit.ly/2KHjfLN> consists of 304 post-stroke MRIs from 11 cohorts
worldwide. These data have been requested by more than 70 researchers in
over 20 countries!
LinkageLibrary: A Resource for those who Merge Data

ICPSR, The University of Michigan and Texas A&M have launched the
LinkageLibrary <http://bit.ly/2twLNje>, a new website to share and preserve
linked data projects. The website is hosted by ICPSR at the U-M Institute
for Social Research.
A Warm Week in Winter for Data!

ICPSR data were feeling the love during “Love Data Week” as 65 datasets

Breaking Trails to the Geospatial Virtual Data Enclave (GVDE) Workshops

Make your way to the American Association of Geographers (AAG) meeting this
April and you will find ICPSR, in collaboration with AAG, the University of
Michigan, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, guiding you
through the GVDE Workshop I (demo)

researchers the possibility to securely access, share, and analyze
confidential geospatial data to replicate or build on scientific research.
