ICPSR's Summer Byte

It’s been a record-setting hot summer and a busy one in the halls of ICPSR!
Grab the lemonade and take a moment to sip some archive updates in this
summer edition of DataBytes.

2016 ICPSR Data Fair: "ICPSR – Navigating the Data (R)Evolution!"

The 2016 ICPSR Data Fair will feature 16 webinars across four days,
September 26-29. Data are everywhere: big data, little data, organic data,
data by design, public- and restricted-use data, in all kinds of formats
and shared from all kinds of places. It’s a fascinating and challenging
time to be in the data sharing space. Join us as we tour external changes
impacting the data community and introduce you to several changes
internally at ICPSR designed to navigate this transformation. *Registration
links to the webcasts are expected to be available in early-September.

Come Work with Us!

ICPSR is recruiting a senior social scientist to direct the Research Center
for Minority Data <http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/RCMD/>, (RCMD). We
seek an experienced researcher who will engage in outreach and education to
the research community, encouraging and supporting data sharing and data
use on minority-related issues. We are particularly interested in someone
who can expand RCMD’s data resources to include administrative and other
naturally occurring data and researchers addressing issues related to data
access itself, such as the digital divide, or other research areas grounded
in data on minorities, including health disparities, poverty and
inequality, and minority entrepreneurship. Applications
<http://umjobs.org/job_detail/129417/director_resource_center_for_minority_data_rcmd>
are due by October 31.
