The Early Head Start Family and Child Experiences Survey (Baby FACES) is a
descriptive study of Early Head Start programs designed to inform policy
and practice at both national and local levels. A six-year longitudinal
study in 89 Early Head Start programs around the country, Baby FACES
followed two cohorts of children through their time in Early Head Start,
starting in 2009, the first wave of data collection through age 3, with the
final round of data in spring 2012. The Newborn Cohort includes pregnant
mothers and newborn children. The 1-year-old Cohort includes children who
were approximately age 1.

The Baby FACES data are made available for secondary analysis through the
Research Connections website (www.researchconnections.org) and are
well-suited for use by graduate students exploring research opportunities,
instructors interested in bringing large national data into the classroom,
and researchers analyzing the development of young children.

This 90-minute webinar will:
· Introduce the Early Head Start Family and Child Experiences Survey (Baby
FACES) data archive
· Increase your understanding of the design of Baby FACES 2009 and the
instruments used
· Introduce you to some of the technical issues associated with analyzing
the data from Baby FACES 2009
· Review the data organization and features and provide tips for working
with Baby FACES data
