[DDI-users] DDI Equivalent - Protocol

Just to clarify for others
GSIM Protocal - A *Protocol* specifies the mechanism (e.g. SDMX web
service, data file exchange, web robot, face to face interview, mailed
paper form) of exchanging information through an *Exchange Channel*.

DDI Codebook does not cover as it does not deal with processes to this
extent
DDI Lifecycle has generalized it's control constructs to include other
methods of data capture than questionnaires but the format is still very
similar except that the capture point is a MeasurementItem used in a
MeasurementConstruct. As such the type of control construct coming closest
to describing a Protocal would be a ComputationItem which supports both
description, computational code and sub-processes for an activity.
DDI CDI has done further development of the process model which may address
your needs
