<p style="line-height:1.5;padding-right:15px;margin-left:15px">Registration for the <a href="https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/sumprog/registration.html" target="_blank">2021 Summer Program</a> is open. The four-week courses run June 21-July 16 and July 19-August 13. And, numerous three- to five-day workshops beginning in May are also in the mix! <a href="https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/sumprog/scholarships/index.html" target="_blank">Scholarship applications</a> are due March 29.</p>

MDRC Using Data to Help Improve Outcomes for Low-income, Underrepresented, and Underprepared Students</h2>
<p style="line-height:1.5;padding-right:15px;margin-left:15px">This month marks the release of version 1.0 of MDRC’s <a href="https://www.mdrc.org/project/higher-education-randomized-controlled-trial#overview" target="_blank"><strong><em>The Higher Education Randomized Controlled Trial</em></strong></a> (THE-RCT) <a href="https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/web/ICPSR/studies/37932/versions/V1" target="_blank">restricted-access dataset available at ICPSR</a>. THE-RCT is the largest individual-participant dataset from higher education randomized controlled trials to date, containing data from more than 25 <a href="https://www.mdrc.org/" target="_blank">MDRC</a> random assignment evaluations encompassing 50 higher education institutions and 65,000 students!</p>

The <a href="https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/web/pages/about/governance/council.html" target="_blank">ICPSR Council</a> unanimously agreed to hold membership fees constant for the upcoming fiscal year.

<p style="line-height:1.5;padding-right:15px;margin-left:15px">ICPSR holds over <a href="https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/web/ICPSR/search/studies?start=0&ARCHIVE=ICPSR&PUBLISH_STATUS=PUBLISHED&RESTRICTED_DATA_TYPE=Restricted%20Use&sort=score%20desc%2CTITLE_SORT%20asc&rows=50&q=" target="_blank">1,700 restricted-use datasets</a>. A number of these data require use while onsite at ICPSR, and where it feels like you are conducting analysis while on Michigan’s shoreline! ICPSR welcomes <a href="https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/deposit/" target="_blank">deposit and sharing</a> of restricted-use data.</p>

The meeting will be completely online, open to the public, and all workshops (and parking too!) are free. More information will come soon, but for now please save the date: October 6-8, 2021.</p>

The Council sets general policy for the Consortium, approves fees and budgets, and performs other duties. The Council consists of twelve members serving four-year terms. Please nominate persons (and that can be yourself!) with the experience, ability, and wisdom to serve on the Council.
