The PATH Study is a household-based, nationally representative, longitudinal cohort study of approximately 46,000 U.S. adults and youth (12 years and older). The study was launched in 2011 to inform FDA’s regulatory activities under the 2009 Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.</font></span></p><span style="font-size:12.8px;font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><font size="2"></font></span><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><font size="2"><span style="color:black"> </span></font></span></p><span style="font-size:12.8px;font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><font size="2"></font></span><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><font size="2"><span style="color:black">Focusing on the first two waves of data (Wave 1 collected from Sep. 2013-Dec. 2014; Wave 2 collected from Oct. 2014-Sep 2015), participants will be introduced to the PATH Study, </span><span style="color:black">including the design, sample, data collection procedures, instruments, and variables. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of how to use and link PATH Study data files. The focus will be on understanding and using the PATH Study's specific data files and the cross-sectional and longitudinal file structures and not on a particular analytic approach. </span><span style="color:black"> The course is a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on exercises.
