<p>This year's conference theme is, "Delivering Effective Data Stewardship." With over 17 workshops and sessions, the <a href="http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/membership/or/ormeet/">ICPSR Meeting</a> will highlight ICPSR's core functions highlighting current data collections and data-related tools and exciting new data projects. The meeting will also impart practical approaches and strategies to work with data producers to share data, write data management plans, steward discipline-focused repositories, and locate tools and resources to assist in curating and managing research data.</p>

<h2 style="background-color:#d8e0ed;font-size:12pt;padding-top:5px;padding-bottom:5px;"><a id="a03" name="a03"></a>Grow your Software Skills with the Software Carpentry Workshop</h2>
<p>ICPSR is pleased to host the popular two-day <a href="http://software-carpentry.org/index.html">Software Carpentry workshop</a>, a hands-on two-day event that covers the core skills needed to be productive in a small research team, including version control, data management, and task automation. Short tutorials alternate with practical exercises. No prior experience is necessary. The <a href="http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/membership/or/ormeet/data-carpentry.html">Software Carpentry Workshop hosted by ICPSR</a> will run Monday and Tuesday, September 28-29, prior to the start of the ICPSR Meeting.</p>

<p>The 2015 ICPSR Meeting will offer <a href="http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/membership/or/ormeet/workshops.html">five workshops</a> taking place on Wednesday, September 30. Workshops offer gentle introductions to understanding research methods metadata and statistical software, bringing data into the classroom, curating and managing research data for re-use, and an orientation to ICPSR and the Official Representative role. Spaces in many workshops are limited, so <a href="http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/membership/or/ormeet/register.html">register</a> soon!</p>

<h2 style="background-color:#d8e0ed;font-size:12pt;padding-top:5px;padding-bottom:5px;"><a id="a08" name="a08"></a>2015 Research Paper Competition Winner Announced!</h2>
<p>ICPSR is pleased to announce the winner of the <a href="http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/ICPSR/prize/index.html">2015 Research Paper Competition for Undergraduates</a>. Tiffany Foster (B.A., Psychology) of the Hiram College earned first-place in the ICPSR Undergraduate Competition with her paper, "<em>Social Information Processing Mediates the Relationship between Effortful Control and Peer Success in First Graders</em>." The paper used the study, NICHD Study of Child Care and Youth Development, to test the way in which children process social information and how that relates to their success with peers.</p>
<h2 style="background-color:#d8e0ed;font-size:12pt;padding-top:5px;padding-bottom:5px;"><a id="a09" name="a09"></a>Budding Researchers Join ICPSR for the Summer</h2>
<p>The ICPSR Intern Class of 2015 has just been announced! <h2 style="background-color:#d8e0ed;font-size:12pt;padding-top:5px;padding-bottom:5px;"><a id="a10" name="a10"></a>Recently Launched Archives Flourish at ICPSR</h2>
<p>In early 2015, ICPSR announced the official debut of a website for the <a href="http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/NADAC/">National Archive of Data on Arts & Culture</a> (NADAC). The underlying data for the <a href="http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR35168">Survey of Public Participation in the Arts</a> (SPPA) and <a href="http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR35478">General Social Survey</a> (GSS) are available to researchers, policy-makers, arts practitioners and others.</p>

<p>ICPSR also announced the creation of a new archive on disability. The <a href="http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/ADDEP/index.html">Archive of Data on Disability to Enable Policy and Research</a> (ADDEP) includes longitudinal datasets that make it easier to follow the onset of disability and changes in functional status that occur over time. ADDEP will cultivate discovery about and understanding of people living with disability in the US, aiding researchers, policy makers, and others. </p>
