offering this summer, a handful focus specifically on data held at ICPSR.
Generously sponsored by the organizations behind these studies and
projects, these workshops have greatly reduced registration fees, or are
free altogether!

The PATH Study

is
a household-based, nationally representative, longitudinal cohort study of
approximately 46,000 adults and youth (ages 12-17) in the United
States. The course is designed for academic faculty and research
professionals, as well as graduate students interested in tobacco
regulatory science and/or prevention/translation research.

This two-day workshop will provide an in-depth overview of the design and
implementation of the PCORI-funded Comparison of Outcomes of Antibiotic
Drugs and Appendectomy (CODA)

randomized
clinical trial in order to support reuse. CODA was a non-inferiority trial
of antibiotics vs. appendectomy for acute, non-complicated appendicitis
motivated by the idea that patients prioritize health outcomes in different
ways.

The Monitoring the Future (MTF)

is a long-term epidemiologic and etiologic study of substance use among the
nation’s youth and adults. There are two workshops that cover these data,
both are free to attend!

The Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID)
<https://umich.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=4de0acf23f8cd9a943b256ebd&id=97175b3fd1&e=315a5923bb>,
begun in 1968, is the world's longest-running multigenerational household
panel study. It is used to investigate scientific and policy questions
about life course trajectories in health and well-being, intergenerational
social and economic mobility, income and wealth inequality, family
investments in children, neighborhood effects on opportunity and
achievement, and many other topics.

This five-day workshop will orient participants to the content and
structure of the core PSID interview, its special topics modules, and its
supplemental studies.
