ICPSR ispleased to announce a webinar introducing new data from the
Measures of Effective Teaching (MET) Project. The MET Project was launched
in 2009 to investigate how teacher evaluation methods can best be used to
inform teachers about the skills that make them most effective, and to help
districts identify great teaching. This project brought together 3,000
teacher volunteers in six different school districts with dozens of
university and education organization experts and researchers.

What’s new?
• Test scores have been added for all students in grades 4 to 8 in academic
years 2011-12, 2012-13, and 2013-14 in the six MET school districts.
• All test scores are linked across years by consistent student and teacher
IDs. These data can be used to study the persistence of a teacher’s impact
on student performance up to four years later.
• New data on more than 2.4 million scores applied to MET videos are
available for research on psychometric properties of items in five
observation instruments.

The webinar will describe the new data and answer questions about gaining
access to the MET LDB. Researchers at RAND who participated in the MET
Project will also be available to discuss the computation of teacher value
added measures and other issues related to the data.
