[ICPSR] ICPSR Summer Program News: Director retirement, 2020 registration, and upcoming webinar

Greetings from the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social
Research!

*Summer Program Director Retirement*

As you may know, ICPSR Summer Program Director Saundra Schneider recently
announced her retirement from the ICPSR Summer Program. Sandy's connections
with the Summer Program go back decades, when she started teaching as a
Summer Program instructor in 1988. Since becoming its director in 2014,
Sandy has worked tirelessly to strengthen and diversify the Summer Program
community of scholars. Among her many achievements include the creation of
the Diversity Scholarship

 and Heitowit Scholarship
<https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/sumprog/scholarships/heitowit.html>;
increased outreach to under-represented communities that would benefit from
quantitative training; the continued development of a broad curriculum of
courses; and the expansion of the Blalock Lecture Series to include
incisive presentations on topics of gender, race, and ethnicity. The Summer
Program community wishes Sandy a warm farewell and happy retirement!

At the same time, we would like to welcome Michael Traugott
<https://www.isr.umich.edu/cps/people_faculty_mtrau.html>, who will serve
as the Summer Program’s Interim Director in 2020. Mike Traugott is Research
Professor Emeritus in the Center for Political Studies at the University of
Michigan's Institute for Social Research, and Professor Emeritus of
Political Science and Communication Studies at the University of Michigan.
Mike first taught in the ICPSR Summer Program in 1969, while he was a
doctoral student in political science at the University of Michigan. He is
a faculty member in the Survey Research Center's Program in Survey
Methodology <https://www.src.isr.umich.edu/>, the author of a dozen books
and hundreds of articles on political opinion polling and the impact of
media on American politics, and the Principal Investigator of "A Social
Science Collaboration for Research on Communication and Learning based upon
Big Data" sponsored by the Michigan Institute on Data Science (MIDAS).

We're happy to announce the dates of our 2020 four-week sessions!

First Session: June 22 - July 17, 2020
Second Session: July 20 - August 14, 2020

Additionally, from May through August 2020, we will offer dozens of short
workshops on a variety of topics in Ann Arbor, Michigan and other cities
