Margaret Levenstein named director of ISR Inter-university Consortium for
Political and Social Research


University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research and the
Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research Governing
Council are pleased to announce that Margaret Levenstein has been appointed
the director of the ICPSR. She will be the ICPSR’s first female director.

Levenstein has a strong academic research background, understands the
potential of science data for social science researchers, and has a stellar
reputation. The innovative leadership she has shown directing the Michigan
Census Research Data Center and chairing the ISR’s Diversity, Equity and
Inclusion strategic planning process will make her a great leader of ICPSR.
