[ICPSR] From ICPSR: Save the DateS!

*2015 OR Meeting – September 30-October 2*

Greetings from a snowy Ann Arbor! Record snowfall and cancelled classes
here at the University of Michigan on this Groundhog Day seems like the
perfect opportunity to burrow out and remind you that the *2015 ICPSR
Biennial Meeting* for ORs, DRs, and participants from member institutions
will be held *Wednesday, September 30 through Friday, October 2, 2015!*

Workshops on Wednesday (9/30) expect to cover topics including gentle
introductions to research methods (for a deeper understanding of dataset
metadata) and statistical software programs as well as a data curation and
teaching-with-data sessions. These workshops lead up to the OR/DR
orientation and ICPSR refresher workshops (led by fellow ORs) held just
before the Council welcome reception.

The meeting this year expects to focus much of its program content on
issues of data stewardship. Many ORs and DRs told us this past fall that
their roles are evolving to include data and repository management and that
you’d like more professional development in this area.

ICPSR Meeting program content will thus cover topics including strategies
for discovering research data on your campus and encouraging its deposit,
writing data management plans, best practices for data repository
management, and building research data management services. The program
will also feature new (and not-so-new!) ICPSR projects and datasets and
allow ample time to network with fellow ORs and ICPSR Staff.

The meeting registration website will launch in late spring, and we’ll post
several updates to our Facebook and Twitter outlets prior to the
registration site launch.

*Find and Apply for Restricted-use Data from NAHDAP: It's Easier than You
May Think!*

February 12, 1:00 to 2:00pm EST

This workshop will educate researchers on how to find information about
restricted-use data on the National Addiction & HIV Data Archive Program
(NAHDAP) Website and how to apply online for access to these data through
ICPSR’s Data Access Request System (IDARS).
