Dear Friends,
The first phase of TRANSTEC abstract review has ended. We now have more
than 80 accepted presentations with an already very exciting program
containing many examples of innovative solutions spanning a wide spectrum
of transportation issues.
Joining us are colleagues from the best American, European, and Asian
universities, private companies, and public agencies. Reflecting the
international character of the congress, phase one contributions are from
(in random order) France, Denmark, Portugal, Italy, Greece, the United
Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria,
Poland, Sweden, Yugoslavia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Canada, Korea, Japan,
and Israel.
From the United States we have presentations from Virginia, Florida,
Missouri, Nevada, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland,
Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New York, California, Texas, Wisconsin, and
Massachusetts. As expected also participating are volunteers and technical
committees from the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies
in the United States (www.trb.org) and the Technical Chamber of Greece
(portal.tee.gr). Sponsors are also from the US and Europe.
During this second phase, a second call for participation is open with a
deadline of January 31st, 2004. Abstract submission format is the same as
during the first phase (500 words maximum, one figure if needed, emailed to
goulias at psu.edu). Papers are also currently invited by the international
scientific steering committee members for sessions on topics of
particularly timely interest.
The registration web site is also open at WWW.TRANSTEC.GR. To register as a
presenter you will need a Personal Acceptance Number (PAN) that is assigned
to each abstract and can be used by each author/co-author to register for
the congress. To receive a PAN you need to first submit an abstract to
goulias at psu.edu or to receive an invitation by a member of the steering
committee.
For sponsors and exhibitors space availability and participation details
are also listed at WWW.TRANSTEC.GR.
Please let me know if you have any questions by email at goulias at psu.edu or
by telephone at +1-814-863-7926.
I am looking forward meeting you in Athens,
Best wishes for a wonderful 2004,
kgg
