We are trying to compile a list of DDI fields at the variable-level for recommended use in Dataverse <a href="http://dataverse.org" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">http://dataverse.org</a> . This could include variable tagging to improve system understanding for weighting, restricted data, visualization, etc. As well as variable metadata editing, including the ability to add and edit variable-level metadata in Dataverse. 1. What DDI field would you use to tag variable data types? E.g. string, category, ordinal, nominal etc. What about weights, time, or geographic variables?<br>

a. What fields in DDI-Codebook or Lifecycle do you recommend?<br>

2. Are there controlled vocabularies for this that can be used to further the structure around variable-level tagging in Dataverse?<br>
<br>
