<div dir="ltr"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Dear DDI Community,<br><br>The DDI Alliance and GESIS are pleased to announce that <a href="http://www.ioe.ac.uk/staff/clss_25.html" target="_blank"><span>Jon</span> <span>Johnson</span></a> from the Institute of Education, University of London, has been chosen for the <a href="http://www.ddialliance.org/node/922" target="_blank">new DDI trainer position</a> and will participate in </span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><a href="http://www.gesis.org/en/events/gesis-workshops/2014-ddi/" target="_blank">this year’s training workshop</a>, which will take place at Schloss Dagstuhl on <span><span>October 13-17, 2014, with a week of preparation the preceding week at GESIS in Mannheim</span></span>.</span> </span><br>
<br><span>Jon</span> brings a wealth of
experience in managing and documenting longitudinal data along with an extensive
network of partners that are candidates for DDI training. He has a
strong vision for DDI training and for encouraging the use and adoption of
DDI around the world.<br><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""></span>
<br>The training opportunity generated a lot of interest, with ten very
qualified people applying. We hope to offer it again in the future and
are considering a broader "train the trainer" initiative that would
