Paul,
Your original data set is your data source. Your new data set containing
variables that result from analysis of this source are recorded in the new
set of variables. Each variable would point back to a generation
instruction which provides the description and algorithem of the process
used to create the new variable.
The generation instruction can reference the source variable(s) and assign
them a mnemonic. r:Description captures a human readable description of
the process and r:Command can capture the actual alorithen and you can
also attach a command code script.
