Dear Colleagues,

Yesterday, the Census Bureau posted a job announcement for the Area
Chief for Research Support for the Center for Economic Studies. This
position supervises the following activities in support of research at
CES, the network of Research Data Centers (RDCs), and the Research and
Methodology (R&M) Directorate of the US Census Bureau: data and metadata
acquisition, development, and deployment, software and web development
and support, and administrative services, including budgeting and
personnel functions.

There is a strong metadata component to the position. Responsibilities
include providing expertise, leadership and direction in metadata
production, development and improvement and the adoption of and
adherence to the standards of the Data Documentation Initiative (DDI)
and other widely recognized metadata standards.

The posting is available at www.usajobs.gov. There are two posting
numbers, CES-2011-0015 and CES-2011-0016. (These posting numbers can be
entered as the keywords on the usajobs home page.) The first posting
(CES-2011-0015) is for 'status' candidates (basically current or former
Federal workers) and the second (CES-2011-0016) is for all qualified US
citizens. All candidates should read the postings carefully and follow
instructions completely. The postings close on July 5. Late entries will
not be considered.
