Hi all,

I'm a newbie to the DDI (very excited about the initiative) and was
wondering if there are any stylesheets already available that produce
codebooks specified conform DDI 3.0?

Any pointers in the right direction would be great.

Kind regards,
Bart Orriens

Hi all,

how would I go about of adding a translation of labels in a category scheme
in DDI 3.0. For question
texts it is possible to just add another question text entry under the
question item.
I could not find something equivalent though for a category scheme label.

Any tips, suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks!
Bart Orriens

Hi Bart,

All labels in DDI including the Label for Category are of type
InternationalString and allow for multiple entries of the label in
different languages. When creating your category scheme provide labels in
multiple languages for each category. This allows you to reference the
scheme and include all languages (the instrument would select the
appropriate language). This works when the labels in the category scheme
are language equivilents. In some cases, a different scheme is required
for different languages because the options required to create
understandable responses for a specific language or cultural group require
more or less category options.

Bart,

Currently I don't know of any publically available forms. I know ICPSR is
working on some and the development of a codebook display is high on the
list of needed tools. Perhaps someone from ICPSR could provide an update
on where they are with this. If others are working on creating XSL
templates please chime in. Clearly this is something we are all interested
in obtaining.
